Kirk Cousins on 'Monday Night Football': Winless record filled with plenty of prime-time lowlights

  • Night net Bears v Vikings Bears Vikings America夜网论坛n Football Kirk Cousins' most famous three words — "You like that?" — would have a very easy answer when it comes to Cousins' performance on Monday Night Football: No.Much is made about Cousins' struggles in prime-time games in general, but it goes to a whole different level on Mondays. He's 0-9 as a starter on MNF in his career, and his teams haven't even covered the betting spread in any of those nine games. There have been a few memorably bad moments for Cousins on Monday nights, but mostly, he's just been consistently poor. The next chance for Cousins to reverse his apparent Monday night curse comes in Week 10 of the 2020 season against the Bears when the Vikings travel to Chicago. Nationals not considering Cal Ripken, Dusty Baker for manager

  • The most intriguing name on the list of possible managers for the Washington Nationals has long been Cal Ripken, Jr.But Adam Kilgore, the Nationals beat writer for the Washington Post, reports that Ripken doesn’t appear to be a likely candidate for the opening . Ripken’s baseball credentials and local ties are obvious—he spent his 21-year Hall of Fame career playing for the Baltimore Orioles—but he doesn’t have any managerial experience, on any professional level. Speculation about Ripken as a possible replacement for the retiring Davey Johnson ramped up when outfielder Jayson Werth endorsed him for the job in the final week of the regular season, and Ripken himself has talked about being open to the possibility of managing at this point in his life, without specifically addressing the opening in Washington. The Nationals, though, have not reached out to Ripken yet.In the same piece, Kilgore also says that Dusty Baker, who was fired by the Reds earlier this month, isn’t a candidate for the job, either. Robertson, 28, posted a 2.04 ERA and 1.040 WHIP in 2013. But the Yankee brass is not willing to commit to the 2011 All-Star just yet. “We haven’t anointed anybody the closer, so I don’t know,” GM Brian Cashman told the New York Daily News. “I know Robertson wants it. But we’ll see how the winter shakes out and how the competition in spring training takes place.“We’re going to look at everybody and anything and see where the winter takes us. The bottom line is, we have to get a collection of talent to bring to spring training. The cream rises to the top, and we have to find as much cream as possible.”Cashman's statement leaves open the possibility the Yankees will turn to the free-agent market to replace Rivera, even though re-signing Robinson Cano c夜网论坛learly is the team's top priority. The San Francisco Chronicle reports the Yankees are among seve[......]
